My profile
From My Herbcorner
Born in May 1968 I gathered daisies, dandelions and plantain to taste and enjoy as soon as I could crawl.
My mom never collected many herbs except Achemillas and lemon balm which we used as tea. My eagerness for knowledge about herbal medicine arouse when I was five years old and nobody did know why...
When I was seven I found an old book from 1917 about Herbal Medicine in the loft. It was from my great-grandmother!
Was she my roots to herbal interest?
This book was my treasure and my mom allowed me to keep it. There was even a notice of an Icelandic moss formula from my grandmother in it!
Was she my roots to herbal interest? Was it running in my veins?
I treasure this book and a picture of Katharina... my grandma I never knew. She died when my mom was 14.
In our loft I found two other ancient books! Haus Doktor (House doctor) from 1855 and Das neue Naturheilverfahren (New natural healing) which doesn't reveal a date, but has the same old printing style like the other.
Have they been from my grandmas grandmother?
Is she my roots to herbal interest? Is it running in my veins?
Collecting herbs or edible plants from the wild and garden gives me such a great feeling of joy. I was always connected with nature who was my best friend when I had to deal with sadness or pain.
Today I am standing here with an experience of over 30 years and still learn so much from our herb friends. I think you can learn your whole life and never know all the secrets and treasures of them. Mother natures pharmacy is to huge to be listed in a book or home page but I like to present you as much as I can from what I have learned and tested.
Maybe this will lead you to your own roots of ancient wisdom.
Enjoy and stay healthy!
