My Look

I am a tall tree with beautiful heart shaped leaves. My bark is grey and smooth and I have pale yellow flowers which have wing like bracts. This is what you gather in the midst of summer.

Find me

I am native to Europe and in other parts of the world you may find me in parks.

Use me

A tea is sweat inducing and helpful when you got (or prevent) a cold or flu. Drink with honey to enhance the effect.

It is also a tea for sleeplessness, to relieve tension and sinus headache.

Take a few drops tincture or a cup of tea more times a day to help with stress, panic or general nervousness.

It may also lower high blood pressure and can be taken as long term remedy.

Make also a tea to use as lotion for itchy skin.

If your eyes are tired and swollen make an infusion with 1 tbsp flowers to 1 cup hot milk and let steep for 15 minutes. Then apply as compress

A bath (flowers steeped for 2 hours) is helpful for nervous people or to treat the pain of a shock. Take a bath before you go to bed to introduce a good sleep.

There is a honey on the market which is collected from linden flowers. It is a bright and mild honey.

Inflamed wounds or burns can be treated with a wash of a bark and leaf decoction.

The beautiful leaves are gorgeous in wreaths or other artistic things and the flowers are nice in Potpourris as well. Give them also into a sleeping cushion.

Cultivate me

You will need a big space but you wont regret my company!
