Rosemary

Since two days I am really crazy about rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
I breath rosemary, I cook with rosemary, I bath with rosemary and yeah… I even brush my teeth with rosemary.
Actually I really don’t know why this herb just dived so deeply into my life. Maybe because I am full of ideas and plans and rosemary is very helpful in clear thinking.
Just try it out! Smell on a fresh twig of rosemary and you can feel how your brain reacts in a sharp clear thinking. Ancient Greek students wore wreaths of rosemary for remembrance, which a modern student can achieve by putting some drops of rosemary oil onto the wrist. You can also rub with some fresh leaves on your wrist and forehead (of course if you are brave enough, wear a rosemary wreath to your exams, maybe it comes into fashion again) ;-)

In the last two days I made rosemary baths by using an infusion, but today I made some products like Rosemary Fizzy balls (here a recipe), Rosemary Milk Bath (here a link), something for my feet (with rosemary of course, please click here) and my tooth powder ( 1 Tbsp powdered rosemary mixed with 2 Tbsp baking soda)
For a nice scent in the kitchen and to stimulate our taste butts, I made Focaccia ( here a link), Rosemary rolls (very nice with herb butter, please click here for the link) and my rosemary digestive cookies (here a link for the “Sweet tooth” of you :- )
Sure there will be more to come, but even my day has only 24 hours ;-)

Oh I nearly forgot, if you suffer high blood pressure please don’t use rosemary! This will increase the blood pressure, even a bath! If you have low or normal blood pressure feel lucky and enjoy the recipes.

Have fun and dive with me into the world of Rosmarinus officinalis!
Enjoy!

No soap?

No worry!
Since a few months I only use oat bags to clean my face and whole body.
Just today I made some more and thought to add them to my wiki (Please click here for the link)

They are nice, made out of natural stuff and safe for every skin type (unless some one is allergic against oat)
Oat softens the water and you can add herbal helpers like thyme for acne, calendula for inflamed skin and so on.
Just try it!

Feet well…

How are you doing my friend?
Sore feet from all the hiking on our beautiful Aotearoa summer island?
Why not make a nice foot bath?
You may like to make some fizzy bath (click here for recipe) or enjoy a salty herb bath (here is a link) or just make a smoothing milk bath (here you can find out how to do :- )

Children like to make a foot bath too!

Just make an infusion or let some flowers floating on the surface and they are happy.

My son David has a quite different point of view when it comes to a foot bath…

Since calendula is blooming why not take this nice cooling and wound healing herb?
For sore feet you can also use comfrey as an infusion in your foot bath.
Then there is the lovely smell of rosemary and of course lavender.
You may also like to make a feet scrub or peeling (click here for the recipe)
Enjoy the day and get your big bowl out for a nice relaxing foot bath!
